ACE*COMM has scored an industry first by merging enterprise telemanagement with Internet/IP network content management. The NetPlus® Internet Content Manager (ICM) is a new security and surveillance module that extends the reach of network and data security with the ability to conduct surveillance and monitor Internet events, traffic, and data.
Ben Gray, ACE*COMM's Vice-President of Enterprise OSS, said "Building on the strength of our NetPlus® EOSS solution, enterprise and IT managers now have security-monitoring and productivity-tracking capabilities for network knowledge extraction and surveillance."
This optional enhancement to NetPlus® 5 supports both the target-centric and data-centric monitoring of subscriber IP traffic. It further enables the tracking of content by type and amount, and can monitor several IP segments (LAN/WAN) simultaneously. ICM can be easily and seamlessly implemented into existing networks.
"We are responding to a natural progression in the industry toward the merging of organizational IT and telephony disciplines into a more central, pervasive management environment," said Ben Gray. "These enhancements further extend our data network management capabilities, and put our products at the forefront of evolving industry trends."
The NetPlus® ICM module is available now. For more information, contact info@acecomm.com.
New ACE*COMM Security Product: CIM
ACE*COMM's Call Intercept Manager (CIM) is a new product for the emerging communications security market. CIM is a comprehensive voice/data monitoring system that collects and analyzes suspicious and high-risk information, enabling law enforcement groups, security agencies, and IT managers to make decisions and take action in security-threatening environments. This high-performance surveillance system is fully compliant with legal interception standards, ensuring accurate and responsible surveillance and risk management.
The technology provides a new and effective tool in crime prevention by allowing for state-of-the-art legal surveillance. This is a boon to law enforcement and security agencies, which require real-time communications surveillance for anti-terrorism, drug, and other law enforcement applications.
CIM can collect both Interception Related Information (IRI) and Call Content (CC) in real time. When combined with ACE*COMM's Convergent Mediation technology, CIM can filter calls by any IRI field, including session classification (voice, fax, or data). It also monitors DTMF (dual-tone multi-frequency) activity, allowing for the monitoring of calling card, call back, and voicemail sessions.
ACE*COMM's Call Intercept Manager is available now for both enterprise (NetPlus® CIM) and carrier (CALEA solution) applications. For more information, contact info@acecomm.com or visit the "Solutions" section of our Web site.
ACE*COMM Expands Reach into China
ACE*COMM will partner with leading Chinese telecommunications service provider Zoom Networks Inc., to jointly address the wireless and next-generation networks (NGN) billing systems market in China.
Established in 1996, Zoom Networks is one of China's new breed of technology companies offering a range of total telecommunications solutions to the decentralizing Chinese telecom market. Zoom's reach extends throughout China and includes three R&D centers, six technical support and customer service centers, and 14 sales offices.
"Our strategy is to bring in market-leading technologies from around the world to build the best telecommunications solutions," said David Yao, General Manager of Product Business Development for Zoom Networks. "ACE*COMM provides the critical convergent mediation component for our customers, who are primarily in the wireless and next-generation networks market sectors."
"This partnership is important to ACE*COMM" said Martin Demers, ACE*COMM Senior Vice-President and Chief Marketing Officer. "It opens a channel for our advanced mediation solutions into the community of Chinese carriers who are deploying NGN technologies and seeking to better analyze their networks for inter-carrier traffic and subscriber usage trends."
China will invest US $60-billion to upgrade its telecommunications networks by 2005; US $500-million of which will be used to upgrade data collection, mediation and billing systems.
ACE*COMM Wins SUPERQuest Award
ACE*COMM's N*VISION® product was selected for a SUPERQuest Award for "OSS/BSS Technology" in the "Most Promising Public Network Technology" category. ACE*COMM received the acknowledgement for its IP mediation deployment at Level 3 Communications.
"The sheer number of SUPERQuest Award entries this year – more than 200 – reflect the strength and resilience of the industry," said Jack Chelden, General Manager, SUPERCOMM. "These awards celebrate outstanding network achievements and the products, technologies and services that underpin them. I congratulate the winners on their success."
"We are delighted to be recognized for our leading OSS/BSS technology and to be part of these prestigious industry awards," said Martin Demers, Senior Vice-President and Chief Marketing Officer at ACE*COMM. "ACE*COMM's mediation implementation at Level 3 Communications works with multiple protocols and provides records to billing systems in flexible ways. It also provides the analytical tools required to help control costs."
ACE*COMM Products Achieve IPDR Compliance
Three of ACE*COMM's leading products have been certified by the Internet Protocol Detail Record Organization (IPDR.org) as v3 IPDR Compliant.
N*VISON®, N*USAGE®, and NetPlus® all received NDM-U (Network Data Management Usage) certification for the latest version of the standard 3.1), which verifies their IPDR record interoperability with participating companies using XML, XDR, and file-based transfer protocol formats for next-generation services such as streaming media and Voice over IP (VoIP).
NDM-U v3.1 represents the culmination of nearly three years of implementation experience and improvements made by IPDR.org member companies. The result is a production-grade specification, accompanied by working reference code libraries in Java and C. NDM-U v3.1 is widely supported within the mediation and billing industry because it offers the following advantages over other usage record types:
Support for multiple evolving services such as VoIP, wireless applications, streaming media, etc.
High-volume binary and easy XML encoding
Future-proofed with schema-contract definition and self-describing records
ACE*COMM is one of only seven companies worldwide to receive NDM-U v3 certification so far.
ACE*COMM to Host EOSS Webinar
ACE*COMM will host a CCBN Webinar (Webcast seminar) on September 23 from 2:00-3:00 PM., on the topic "The Evolution of Telemanagement: What an EOSS Can Do for You." Greg Trexler, Director of Product Architecture Enterprise Communications, and Senior Vice-President and Chief Marketing Officer Martin Demers will look at contemporary issues in enterprise telemanagement and its evolution towards enterprise operations support systems (EOSS)-based solutions.
Telemanagement requirements for large enterprises have evolved rapidly, to the point of taking off in a new direction. EOSS solutions take a wider and longer view of the organization's networks and the information within them. It is no longer simply a matter of managing data and communications resources. To fully realize their value, advanced EOSS systems are designed within the context of the entire organization.
Today's high-end EOSS solutions are seen as strategic assets for the organization, enabling the realization of valuable network knowledge. Network knowledge is used to reduce costs, generate new revenue (where applicable), provide system-wide and multi-tiered security, maintain peak network performance, and to give management a unified view of the organization's communications infrastructure.
This Webinar will be of interest to both telemanagement and IT managers who want to know more about these important developments in the industry.
This live multimedia presentation is free of charge. All you need is a JavaScript-enabled Web browser (MS Internet Explorer 4+) that is capable of playing streaming media through Windows Media Player or RealPlayer. If you prefer, you have the option of using your telephone for the audio portion of the Webinar.
